2008 STUDENT SYMPOSIUM
OSGC hosted their second annual Student Symposium on November 14th at the Powell Learning Center / Memorial Union on the OSU Campus. 2008 NASA Student Interns presented an overview of their research during a morning poster session. During the afternoon, students went into additional detail about their work and gave a summary of their NASA experiences during conference research presentations. Both sessions were well attended by students, faculty, family, and administration.

STEMFEST!- The OSGC 2008 Affiliate Meeting was held in early September at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. With amazing student projects and presentations, including a visit from the award winning OSU Robotics Team, as well as lively discussions about improving STEM education in Oregon, the annual state consortium meeting was a great success.
CONGRATULATIONS to the OSU Robotics Team who, along with the "Parallax Quad Rover" won the second annual University Rover Challenge at the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah. The team was sponsored by Parallax, Inc and OSGC. The winning team gets to participate in the 11th Annual International Mars Society Convention in Boulder, CO August 14-17, 2008.
CONGRATULATIONS to OSGC webmaster Robert Peckyno, who was chosen to participate in the first annual NASA "Coffee with the Administrator." Robert was one of a select group of graduate students, chosen for their ongoing research and interest in NASA related fields, who were flown to NASA HQ to meet with NASA administrator, Mike Griffin.
CONGRATULATIONS to the OSGC Team (Claude Kansaku, Linda Kehr, and Catherine Lanier) for winning the 'Best Overall Paper' and 'Best Paper - PIC II' Awards at the 2007 American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Conference in Hawaii. Click here to read their abstract!
